Research subjects must be withdrawn from the research if they object. Various codes of conduct have been drawn up for this purpose:
- The Code of conduct relating to expressions of objection by minors participating in medical research;
- The Code of conduct relating to expressions of objection by human subjects with mental disabilities;
- The Code of conduct relating to expressions of objection by incapacitated (psycho)geriatric patients.
