Sphere of action
With due regard for its authorities on the grounds of the WMO the MREC Erasmus MC reviews medical-scientific research that is wholly or partially performed in, or with the cooperation of, (employees of) the Erasmus MC, unless it concerns research that, in accordance with Section 2 of the WMO, is reviewed in the first instance by the CCMO.
The MREC Erasmus MC reviews on the basis of the WMO and other relevant legislation and regulations, including the ICH Guideline for Good Clinical Practice and the Declaration of Helsinki.
In consultation with the Board of Directors the MREC Erasmus MC can also review medical-scientific research on behalf of other institutions for which no other committee has been designated within the meaning of Section 16 of the WMO, provided the committee's workload permits these extra tasks. The overview of institutions with which agreements have been made is available for inspection at the secretariat and is published on the website of the MREC.
In the case of multicentre research whereby the Erasmus MC acts as principal investigator, the circle for which the MREC Erasmus MC reviews medical-scientific research is to be extended to the whole of the Netherlands.
Rates
Please note! From 31 January 2022, national rates are set to the assessment of research with a medicinal product (CTR) and clinical research with a medical device (MDR article 62/74.2).

* Indien het onderzoek op enigerlei wijze wordt gesponsord, gelden dezelfde tarieven als voor studies waarvoor de industrie de verrichter is.
Voor exacte tarieven kunt u contact opnemen met het secretariaat van de METC.
- Bij onderzoek dat door een bedrijf met winstoogmerk wordt ondersteund, wordt een METC fee van € 2.400 (singlecenter) of € 4.800 (multicenter) in rekening gebracht.
- Bij een extern investigator-initiated onderzoek dat niet wordt ondersteund, wordt een METC fee van € 2.400 in rekening gebracht.
- Bij onderzoek dat door een bedrijf met winstoogmerk wordt ondersteund, wordt een METC fee van € 600 in rekening gebracht voor amendementen (indien van toepassing, eenmaal per jaar).
- Bij een door de industrie geïnitieerd of ondersteund geneesmiddelenonderzoek wordt ook een aparte fee in rekening gebracht door de ziekenhuisapotheek van het Erasmus MC (indien van toepassing).
