MDR postponed by one year to 26 May 2021
The moment of ratification of the European Medical Device Regulation (EU no 2017/745 (MDR)) has been postponed by one year due to the corona crisis. The new date is 26 May 2021.
The European Council and the European Parliament have agreed to the proposal of the European Commission for this date. Originally, the MDR was to come into effect as of 26 May 2020.
The CCMO is in the process of taking stock of the consequences of the new date for the current preparations for the implementation of the MDR. For the time being, all preparations are ongoing. Should things change as a result of the postponement, we will inform you.
