Population Screening Act
In certain instances a permit is required in order to carry out a population screening. This is laid down in the Dutch Population Screening Act (Wbo). If a population screening fulfils both criteria of the WMO, and a permit is also needed on the grounds of the Wbo? Then only the Wbo, and not the WMO, is applicable. You can read more about the scope of the Wbo on the Population research page. On the basis of the WMO a medical-ethical review must be carried out of a population screening for which no permit is needed on the grounds of the Wbo, but which does fall under the scope of the WMO.
