Hearing

Before the CCMO decides on the appeal, concerned parties can, if so desired, use the option of a hearing. The MREC that has taken the disputed decision will also be invited to attend the hearing. If you, as a concerned party, wish to attend the hearing, the CCMO will ask you to state this in the notice of appeal.

The hearing offers concerned parties the opportunity to clarify the notice of appeal in more detail and offers the MREC the opportunity to provide a more detailed clarification of the considerations on which its decision is based. The CCMO, represented at the hearing by the chairperson and two members, generally asks the party that submitted the appeal more detailed questions during the hearing about the content of the research protocol and the grounds for the appeal. A report is made of the hearing, which is included in the assessment of the appeal during the plenary meeting of the CCMO.
